The 1 Tb hard disk is automatically de-mounting

I have purchased a 1TB hard disk with my laptop. When I am playing any video file from that HDD, within a few minutes the hard disk is automatically demounting.

Is there any loose connection? (cables not connected properly to the HDD)

What is the solution for this?

This shouldn't happen in general.

Does this happen with all the video files? Always?

Did you recently made any changes in the disk partition or format?

If yes, then I suggest you backup your data and try formatting the 1TB HDD with ext4 filesystem.

If not, as you suspect, it could be a loose connection or HDD issue, I suggest you contact RDP directly for the resolution.

It's happening all the time, not only with video files but any file (pdf) in the HDD.

I will try to format it and see the same thing is happening or not.
What are the commands I have to run for formatting?

I suggest you install gparted tool.
"sudo apt install gparted"

You can then follow this tutorial https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/17001/how-to-format-a-usb-drive-in-ubuntu-using-gparted/ for more insights.
