The LED above F3 key is always glowing. What is it indicating, and how can I turn it off?

There are 3 Blue LEDs near F3-F4 keys.

  1. Above F3 Key is Power LED(LED ON when the laptop is turned ON)
  2. Next key on the right is Caps lock key(LED ON -> Caps lock ON)
  3. Next key on the right is Num pad key(LED ON -> Num pad ON, which means the keys J, K, L, M etc will now work as number keys)

The leftmost RED LED is for charging (LED ON -> Charing in progress).

I'm afraid the Power LED above F3 cannot be turned off.

I have noticed this issue in past, but couldn't reproduce it anymore.

Try updating your Kernel. See the update-4 instructions in the given link https://ld.iitb.ac.in/?q=Software%20Updates
The kernel update may have fixed it for me.

Could you please help me with the steps to reproduce at my end?

I tried 100% charge method you mentioned, but I didn't get the blinking LED.

In my case it blink almost every time I boot-up, because of that reason only i thought it is some what connected to cpu usage. But your explanation about RED LED left me thinking about what it really indicates
