unable todetect sd card

i am unable to detect sd card san disk ultra 32 gb. no popup window is coming when card is inserted in laptop slot available for the on right hand side. pl help

1) Open your file browser(Dolphin) and try to locate your sdcard on the left pane under "Devices". Click on the drive to access your device.

2) If the above doesn't work for you, I suggest the following before you take your laptop to the service center.

Open the Konsole application and run udevadm monitor

Now insert your sdcard and monitor the output.

If you see some output immediately after connecting the sdcard then the sdcard slot is fine and OS could detect it. Then try formatting your sdcard to make it work.

If your see no output at all then you may have a non-functional sdcard slot.
