Temperature of a Radioactive rod -
The distribution of temperature and heat flux in a rod of circular cross of diameter d is to be
computed. The rod is assumed to be infinitely long — it is enough to examine its cross section. The rod is
kept in vacuum – it can only radiate heat into its surroundings (of known radiative temperature Ts). Because
of its radioactivity, every volume unit of the rod produces known amount of heat ñ(rho) in unit time. Find
solutions for at least two different values of ñ(rho).
