how can we average our data over any time interval, after the simulation is finished?
i know i can time average data while running the case by using fieldAverage. but i want to get time averaged data from already run simulation (simulation is completed)?
so how can we do in OpenFoam, what function can do this.
thanks in advance
OpenFOAM

Hi,
To use the fields from an already completed simulation, you'll need to use the postProcess utility in OpenFOAM. Unfortunately, fieldAverage cannot be used by the postProcess utility. You could try ParaView though. The 'Calculator' along with the 'Data over time' filters in ParaView should help you average your fields.

It's really not that simple to get data from a running system and I'm having trouble with it to finish the report. io games

Wow, this is a fantastic piece. This was much too much information quordle technology for me. It's exactly what I've been looking for. I'd like to recommend that you continue to post this kind of information. Thanks

I will to convince my teacher. I looked everywhere, but I don't believe there is such a command. Why not use paraview as openfoam promotes it? I will eventually obtain the same values. wordle today

my teacher says dont use paraview, do it itself in Openfoam, i am not able to find any command in Openfoam, i know how to do it in paraview. i just started openfoam not long ago, i dont know if there is any such function or not

As I had mentioned earlier, the in-built fieldAverage function only can be used as a run-time function and not a post-processing one. So, for an already run simulation, even I'm not sure if there are any temporal avergaing post-processing functions available.

are you familiar with DFSEM velocity BC?, if you are can you give me idea about 'delta' and 'nCellPerEddy'

I haven't worked with the DFSEM velocity BC, but the condition is implemented in OpenFOAM based on the paper linked below. I hope it helps.
