Using ChemCad for absorption involving Henry constant's

Hi

I used ChemSep CAPE-OPEN column to scrub CO2 from a mixture of methane and CO2 using water. I have tried different themo models, including DECHEMA and Raoult with Henry constants but the similation does not seem to progress well and there is only a minor change in outlet with actually higher CO2.

Can someone please provide some pointers on how to get reasonable results using ChemSep. ChemSep does show Henry constant of methane and CO2 in water during loading of henrys_law.ipd file.

Did you try increasing the amount of water being used for scrubbing and see if there is any effect?

Also, why have you used equimolar amount of methane, CO2, and water in the Lean Water stream? Shouldn't it contain only water?

Thank you for your quick response. I realised that mistake of equimolar amount of methane, CO2, and water after posting this. One needs to click on Accept changes after changing the molar concentration. That and changing the activity coefficient to ideal from regular gave reasonable results
