Doubt regarding the given task

As per the task, we need to write VHDL code for the logic design, so should we write for the components present in a particular design or a code for the whole design itself.
For example, If I choose a counter, should I write for a flip-flop and other components separately and combine or should I write a code directly for the counter?
Please let me know asap as I need to complete the task.

If someone give a circuit for writing its VHDL code, then you should write directly its whole VDHL code if they don't mention anything else. fmwhatsapp
