Problem before Instaling OPENFOAM

Hi!

I am interested to register for the Beginner Course in Openfoam which is scheduled on Sept 26th, 2020. So, I wished to install OPENFOAM on my WINDOWS 10 PC, and I downloaded Instructions to do so from your Website.

After installing VirtualBOX, when I come to the Window where I need to SELECT "number of CPUs", the SLIDER doesnot move at all. I am forced to choose only One CORE/CPU though my PC has SIX CORE Processor.

Please help me REsolve this Issue. I had contact a week 10 days before by email, but after one reply question, there is no further inpur from your TEAM.

Thank You!

Dear Prof. Pankaj, I apologise for not replying to you earlier. The entire team was occupied with the Workshop preparations. I checked some online forums about the problem you're facing and found that the most common reason could be that the "Virtualization" has not been enabled in your PC. Could you please check that. You could do this by clicking on the "Performance" tab in your Task manager and then click on "CPU" to a few peformance graphs to be revealed. Under the graphs, please check if it says "Virtualization: Enabled". If not, please write to us with the computer model that you're using so that we can guide you better to enable Virtualization as the steps vary for different machines. Thank you, Ashley

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I checked as directed by you, and the Virtualization is DISABLED on my PC. My PC is an assembled one. It is 64-bit PC with Intel i5 9400F CPU with 6 Cores.

Dear Prof. Pankaj,

Please find the steps to  enable virtualization in your PC in the PDF in the link below.

Once completed please check if you're able to select more CPUs during the Ubuntu installation using VirtualBox.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Ashley
