The wifi icon from the network panel is missing. I am not able to connect to the internet. Tried some solutions from google search, but of no use. ipcongif command is also not working.

Thanks for sharing the issue along with the screenshot. There are a few possible reasons for this:
1) A kernel or driver update 2) Improper shutdown or hard reset 3) A hardware issue (either wifi module damaged or lose connection) Possible solutions: 1) Shutdown the laptop (do not restart), then power on the laptop, check for wifi icon
2) Assuming the driver got updated automatically, in such case, shut down the laptop and then power on again.
On the GNU GRUB screen select the second option using down arrow key
-> Advanced options for Debian GNU/Linux (hit enter)
Inside that, select
-> Debian GNU/Linux, with Linux 4.19.1-iitb (hit enter)
After boot, if the wifi icon still doesn't appear, then you may have to contact the hardware vendor(RDP).

If not, another alternative could be using an external USB wifi adapter(Realtek/Tplink) which is available for purchase for less than 500Rs online.
