Is it possible for one to install a hard disk in the RDP thinbook, on their own, without assistance from an authorised personnel?

Yes, it is possible, however, you may lose the warranty if any. You also should have basic knowledge of hard disk replacements with laptops. I suggest you make some research on youtube, In general, it is a simple and straight forward process. Good luck :-)
