Forgot laptop password

I have forgotten my laptop password, please help me reset the password.

At the login screen do the following:

  1. cntl + alt + f1
  2. Login
    1. user: root
    2. password: debian
  3. Once you login to root account (with '#' sign on the prompt), change your user password
  4. passwd user
    1. It will prompt you for the new password twice
  5. cntl+ alt + f7 (or f8)
  6. Login with your newly created password

So I was dumb enough to forget the password of my new Windows 10 ASUS laptop and I've tried guessing it but I've given up.  I have no password recovery disk since the laptop is new and there isn't anything important on it.emi calculator gst login ifsc code
