Chromecast on Linux

Is there any software to cast videos to Chromecast? Can someone share a link to download it?

Thanks in advance.

You can use 'google chrome' browser and cast youtube or the entire desktop.

To play a local video through chromecast open your chrome browser and browse to the file with file URL.

Say,

file:///home/user/Videos/myvideo.mp4

Then select cast option from the preference menu and select your casting device. That's all.

The video opens in the default video player

The video opens in the default video player and not the Chrome browser. Cannot cast thereafter.

I just found that VLC has chromecast support, I tried with mine and it works.
VLC-> Playback -> Renderer -> (select your chromecast device).

Chromebooks are unquestionably distinct from other types of laptops due to the operating system they utilise. Chrome OS is a programme that is distinct from Android but is fully compatible with it because it was also developed by Google using Linux. Chrome OS does not typically come with an operating system. The Google Drive toolkit and cloud facilitate its operation. Therefore, Buy refurbished Chromebook UK a constant Internet connection is required in order to reap its benefits. It provides offline functionality, but to a lesser degree than other computers.
