plotting skin friction coefficient
Title
Question

Hi all, I am solving flow past cylinder in icoFoam. I want to plot skin friction coefficient along the cylinder surface. Can anyone suggest how to proceed? I have run wallShearStress utility after the completing the simulation. Thanks & regards Subhankar

Hey,

After running the wallShearStress utility, load the wall patches (except the internalField) and use the calculator filter on it.Use the following formula:
skin friction coefficient = (2*tauw/(rho*V^2))

Thanks for replying... after calculating the skin coefficient how can i plot the skin friction coefficient over the cylinder surface? Also since i am using icoFoam so in the formula 'rho; should be divided or not?
regards

1) Use Calculator filter to plot over line.

2) Divide by rho
